This news report about the UN Millenium development goals (MDG#2) has been filmed by 80 boys and girls who come from a slum in Nairobi, Kenya and are now supported by the African Medical and Research Foundation. This video on MDG#2 Includes discussion on the problems children face when attending school even when it is free for them to do so. When there is little money for desks, or no chair to sit on or the school is so dirty it has the potential to make children sick.
Also how few teachers there are, and that the quality of instruction from some teacher's is so poor that it makes more sense for them to stay in the street and earn what money they can. Also recommendations from children of primary school age in Africa on the need for education and how to best achieve this. AMREF has produced these clips about each of the UN Millenium Development Goals (MDG) and their potential impact in the eyes of these children.
